One Step Away produces a monthly street magazine. The magazine advocates for social justice, raises awareness about issues of homelessness and poverty, and provides a platform for marginalized communities to have a voice.
One Step Away's vendor program is a no-barrier income opportunity for individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, or joblessness.
One Step Away works with vendors to engage the community and break the stigmas and stereotypes related to homelessness. We work with vendors and the community to create opportunities for the public to get involved in solving homelessness through hands-on interaction with vendors, street sales, and by reading the magazine.
We strive to create innovative programs and activities that positively impact all sectors of society. We focus on programs that are sustainable, scalable, and invest in our mission.
We’re excited to share our newest issue and the news that OSA vendor Ram & his daughter Symphony moved into an apartment thanks toBerger Rental Communities’ Hope and Door Initiative. When Ram was 10-years-old he was taken out of his home and placed in a boys’ group home. Once he aged out of the foster system, he had no where to go. Now, he has his own apartment and can break the cycle of homelessness for his daughter Symphony. Get your copy today on the #streets of #philly to hear Ram’s story and see photos from move-in day. #streetpaper
